The Bondi to Coogee Walk: Sydney’s Most Beautiful Coastal Day
A relaxed guide to Sydney’s famous cliff walk linking beaches, cafés, and ocean views.
The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk might be the most scenic urban walk I’ve ever done. It’s six kilometres of ocean cliffs, hidden beaches, and cafés overlooking the Pacific.
I started early at Bondi Beach, when surfers were already in the water and cafés were filling with locals grabbing coffee after morning swims.

Bondi itself is lively, almost theatrical. Lifeguards patrol the wide sandy beach while tourists photograph the famous Bondi Icebergs pool.
The trail quickly climbs onto sandstone cliffs. The view north toward Bondi is spectacular — golden sand framed by turquoise waves.
Along the route you pass several beaches including Tamarama and Bronte. Bronte Beach became my favorite stop. It has grassy picnic areas and a natural ocean pool perfect for swimming.
The final stretch into Coogee is quieter. Coogee Beach has a relaxed, neighbourhood feel with restaurants lining the waterfront.
Costs: Free walk, just budget for food and transport.
Visa note: Most travellers from Canada, the US, and Europe require an ETA for Australia.
Suggested photo: The trail curving along cliffs above bright blue ocean water.
