San Francisco: Hills, Views, and Coastal Energy
A complete guide to San Francisco including neighborhoods, transit, and day trips.
Arriving at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), I took the BART train into the city — about 30 minutes. It’s efficient and avoids traffic delays. I stayed near Union Square, which is central but busy. For a more relaxed feel, areas like Nob Hill or Marina District are better. San Francisco is a city of neighborhoods. Walking from Fisherman’s Wharf to the Golden Gate Bridge (or biking it) is one of the best experiences. I explored:
· Golden Gate Park

· Haight-Ashbury
· Mission District (great food scene) One of the highlights was taking a ferry to Sausalito, which feels like a completely different town. Food is excellent, especially in the Mission — tacos, cafés, and modern restaurants. I was tempted again to retrace a former bicycle trip up to the Napa Valley again. What I’d do differently: Stay outside Union Square for a better atmosphere.
