Budapest: Thermal Baths and Riverside Views
A city divided by the Danube offering history, architecture, and unique bath culture.
Arriving at Budapest Airport (BUD), I took the 100E airport bus directly into the city — simple and efficient. Budapest is split into Buda (hills) and Pest (flat, lively). The Parliament Building along the Danube is one of the most impressive in Europe, especially lit at night. Crossing the Chain Bridge, I walked up to Buda Castle for views over the city. The highlight was visiting Széchenyi Thermal Baths — a uniquely Hungarian experience. Food is hearty — I had goulash and local wine in a traditional restaurant. What I’d do differently: Visit more than one thermal bath.
