Chicago: Architecture, Food, and a Walkable Downtown
A detailed guide to Chicago’s skyline, riverwalk, and neighborhoods.
Flying into Chicago O’Hare (ORD), I took the Blue Line train into downtown — about 45 minutes and very efficient. This is the best way to go. I stayed in the Loop, which is ideal for first-time visitors. From here, you can walk to most major attractions. The standout experience in Chicago is the architecture river cruise. Departing from the Chicago Riverwalk, it gives you a detailed look at the city’s skyline and history. Walking along the Riverwalk itself is one of the best ways to experience the city — especially in the evening. I also spent time in:
· Millennium Park (Cloud Gate / “The Bean”)

· Grant Park
· The Magnificent Mile for shopping and views Food is a highlight. I tried:
· Deep-dish pizza (heavy but worth it once)
· A steakhouse dinner
· Casual street food What I’d do differently: Spend more time exploring neighborhoods outside downtown.
