Calgary Stopover: A Worthwhile Day

Walking the Bow River pathway gave me a quick feel for the city. The Calgary Tower helps orient you, and the food scene—especially Alberta beef—is excellent. The City has expanded greatly since my brothers were born there. The core of the City can be seen for miles, and you notice that many of the building are connected by overhead enclosed walkways, to enable getting around while not walking in the snowy cold. I also suggest renting a car for half a day and explore the scenary of the prairies, which is really quite like nothing you have seen before. Grain elevators are a common site.
